Battle of the Books
Our Battle of the Books’ Zoom meeting and BOB Competition was last Thursday. Fourth and Fifth-grade students have the opportunity each year to participate in this competitive book club. The Battle of the Books program runs from September to February. Honing their skills as close readers, “B.O.B” members learn to pay attention to details that other readers often skip over. The results for teams qualifying for the semi-final round will be announced after Easter Break. Go Zion Lions!

National Lutheran Schools Week

January 24-29

At the end of January, Zion Lutheran School will be celebrating National Lutheran Schools Week. National Lutheran Schools Week provides more than 1,900 preschools, elementary schools, and high schools with the public opportunity to proclaim and celebrate God’s work among us in schools of The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod.

We thank God for the opportunity to provide excellent academic preparation for the children we serve. We are most grateful for the opportunity to share Jesus’ amazing love with children and their families.
National Lutheran Schools Week gives us an opportunity to proclaim these great blessings within the communities we serve.
Our schools are amazing incubators for faithful witness of God’s love for us through Christ by teachers and students alike.
I’d like to take this opportunity to thank you, our parents and families, for choosing to send your children to Zion Lutheran School! At Zion, we focus on providing a Christ-centered education in an environment which nurtures faith and thankfully celebrates God’s redemptive love and grace — in a proven program of Lutheran education.

Dress Up Day Fun before Christmas Vacation!

Pacific Southwest Service Day 2020

Here at Zion, as we work to cultivate Christ-like character, we are reminded that “…for even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve…” Mark 10:45. Throughout the year, our students participate in various projects to serve and help others.
Today, November 18th, we participated in the Pacific Southwest District Service Day where our students performed acts of service for others. Some of the acts of service include: making cards for shut-ins, making Thanksgiving decorations for a board and care facility, planting flowers around Zion’s campus, restoring the Zion garden on Zion’s Faith Field, washing windows, and processing Operation Christmas Child boxes.
Thanks be to God for guiding the hands and hearts of our students as they worked to serve others on this day and in their lives.
As we thank God for His work through our students, we are especially thankful to Him for His love and forgiveness. We have a new life in Jesus who loves us and gave His entire being for us. He is our reason for Thanksgiving!
