“CHILDREN ARE A HERITAGE FROM THE LORD, OFFSPRING A REWARD FROM HIM.” PSALM 127:3

Mrs. Lori Knapp • ECEC Director

“I have been blessed to call Zion ECEC my home as the Director since 2014 after serving at another Zion school for 26 years. I have a Masters Degree in Early Childhood Education and currently serve on the National Lutheran School Accreditation Commission. I am an avid NY Yankees fan and love traveling back East for a game or two! My husband, Chuck, and I recently celebrated our 43rd Anniversary and have three wonderful children and an adorable dog. My hobbies are antiquing and genealogy.”

Mrs. Sylvia Rojas

“I have been with Zion for over 27 amazing years and have the wonderful opportunity to teach the early 3-year-olds class. One of the most treasured memories I have at ECEC was being able to watch my daughter, Sofia, as she experienced ECEC herself. She is now in 1st Grade. I am bilingual and enjoy traveling to Peru to visit my family.”

Mrs. Andrea Irby

“I always knew I wanted to be a teacher, even when I was very young. I enjoy helping children learn and grow. I went to California State University, Fullerton, and have been teaching for over 20 years at Zion. When I am not teaching, I am busy with my family. I love watching my son, Logan, play baseball, and like to see my daughter, Julia, in her dance recitals. I have been married to my husband Craig for over 19 years and our family is proud to be a part of the Zion Family”

I’m very blessed to be part of Zion ECEC since early 2019. I’ve been teaching for four years. I currently teach the Two-year-olds class. I love working with them and their curiosity. In my free time, I enjoy going for walks at the beach with my family.

Mrs. Nina Lutz

I am so pleased to have been part of the staff at Zion ECEC since early 2019 and am currently the afternoon teacher of the Pre-Kindergarten class. Preparing these children to eventually enter kindergarten is a job I love! Most of all, I aim to stress the importance of their relationship with Jesus and that He loves them unconditionally.

I attended Lutheran schools growing up, and going into Lutheran education was something I’d had a yearning for, even from a very early age.  I trained to be an elementary teacher and taught in Lutheran elementary schools for many years. However, I found myself more interested in the younger child and gradually switched over to preschool teaching after attending school for it. And I really love it!

My home and family are very dear to me. My husband Alan and I have been married for over 40 years and we have two grown children, Ryan and Kristiana. In my time away from school, I enjoy gardening, reading, taking online classes, and watching British series and old movies.  My 3 cats and dog are a vital part of my life, too-can’t imagine life without pets!!!
