“Train up a child in the way he should go and when he is old he will not depart from it.” Proverbs 22:6

Mrs. Susan Marousek • ECEC Director

“I am so excited to begin my 3rd year here at Zion. I have 17 years of experience teaching kindergarten and 13 years as a preschool director. I have my BA in Elementary  Education with a minor in Early Childhood Education as well as a Multi-Subject teaching credential, all from Concordia University in Irvine. I earned my MA in curriculum and instruction in 2010. I have two young adult children from my late husband.  I have been married to Kevin Marousek, one of Zion’s Elementary teachers, since 2020.  I enjoy being part of the Zion family and sharing the love of Jesus.”

Mrs. Sylvia Rojas

“I have been with Zion for over 30 amazing years and have the wonderful opportunity to teach the early 3-year-olds class. One of the most treasured memories I have at ECEC was being able to watch my daughter, Sofia, as she experienced ECEC herself. She is now entering Junior High.  I am bilingual and enjoy spending time with my family.

“I always knew I wanted to be a teacher, even when I was very young. I enjoy helping children learn and grow. I went to California State University, Fullerton, and have been teaching for over 20 years at Zion. When I am not teaching, I am busy with my family. We love going to the beach and spending time together.  I have 2 young adult children and have been married to my husband Craig for over 24 years.

Mrs. Linda Vonderloh

“I have spent 30 plus amazing years as a teacher educating and caring for children in Pre-k, Transitional Kindergarten, and Kindergarten. My first job was at Zion as an afternoon aid at the Preschool.  That was when I knew I wanted to work with children.  After graduating from college and working at other Pre-schools I was blessed to return to Zion as a Pre-k teacher in 2014.  I am inspired and excited by my students each day. In my free time, my husband and I enjoy camping, fishing, and boating.

I have been working with children since 2017. I have 3 little blessings of my own who also attend Zion Lutheran. I can’t wait to play a part in raising God’s children to be disciples of his kingdom. I strive to help each child grow, not only in their academics but in their relationships with others and with God. It is God’s plan that we “train up a child in the way he should go; so even when he’s old he will not depart from it.” Proverbs 22:6 I’m excited for my journey with Zion and building bonds to last a lifetime. In my spare time, I love to hang out with my children, try new places, and enjoy life as much as I can.

It is a pleasure to be a part of the Zion ECEC family.  I have the opportunity to float from classroom to classroom and get to know all the teachers, students, and parents. I graduated from Concordia university Irvine in 2014 with a BA in early childhood and a music minor. I have been working in a preschool setting since 2015. I am fluent in English and Japanese and my family still resides in Japan. In my free time I train on the ice as a figure skater, I enjoy reading, doing lots of different forms of art.”
