“I have wanted to be a teacher since I was five years old. I’ve had awesome teachers who inspired me along my journey and I love being able to pass that passion along to the students at our school. I graduated with my Bachelors degree at California State University, Long Beach, and received my California Credential at California State University, Fullerton. I earned my Master of Arts degree at Concordia University, Irvine. I have worked at Zion for nineteen years, and I love it!”

I had the opportunity to teach many grade levels as a substitute teacher for one year after graduating from California State University, Long Beach. I received my Bachelors Degree and my CA Teaching Credentials in 2011. When I started the Teaching program I knew I wanted to teach Kindergarten. I was able to work with all different age groups as a Substitute Teacher but there was always a special place in my heart for Kindergartners. I have been so blessed to have watched the growth of my Kindergarten students here at Zion and will continue to do my best to guide them toward success.

I am a product of the Lutheran school system – attended Christ Lutheran, Orange Lutheran, and received my teaching credential from Concordia University, Irvine. Teaching in a Lutheran school seemed natural to me. I love being able to form positive relationships with students, helping them to learn and grow, and most importantly sharing the word of God with them. I was first introduced to Zion Lutheran when I student taught in Mrs. Tordil’s first-grade class in October 2017. After student teaching; I moved to Kent, Washington to take my first call where I taught a 3rd and 4th-grade combination class. I had such a fun, positive student teaching experience and I am equally honored and excited to return to Zion and be part of an amazing community.

I am so excited to begin this new chapter in my life here at Zion. I attended College of the Ozarks in Missouri where I grew up. I did not set out to be a teacher, but God called me to this profession without a doubt. I absolutely love teaching junior high students! I aspire to educate students to make our world a better place; not only for others but for themselves as well. My prayer is that they go out throughout the nations and spread the love of Jesus to all. I love anything nature-related, reading, animals, and family.

“I am so excited to serve in my new role here at Zion. I have served at Zion the past six years as a substitute teacher and have greatly enjoyed being part of the Zion family! Last year, I also added resource tutor to responsibilities and I am excited that I can continue to serve in this role. I received my Bachelor’s degree from Concordia University in St. Paul, where I developed my passion for teaching others about Jesus and sharing my love for books.
