I had the opportunity to teach many grade levels as a substitute teacher for one year after graduating from California State University, Long Beach.  I received my Bachelors Degree and my CA Teaching Credentials in 2011.  When I started the Teaching program I knew I wanted to teach Kindergarten.  I was able to work with all different age groups as a Substitute Teacher but there was always a special place in my heart for Kindergartners.  I have been so blessed to have watched the growth of my Kindergarten students here at Zion and will continue to do my best to guide them toward success.

“I feel so blessed to be able to teach at Zion this year. I take such joy in being able to inspire my students to grow in their knowledge and faith each day. I am looking forward to getting to know all of my students and to help them grow in the skills that will make them successful this year.

As a student, I attended Zion Lutheran for elementary school, Orange Lutheran for high school and I received my college degree and a teaching credential from California State University Fullerton.

I had an amazing experience at Zion as a student and love being a part of making Zion a great place for the students of today.”

As a student, I attended Lutheran schools from kindergarten through college, and I’ve been teaching in Lutheran schools since 1993. I’m excited to join the ministry team at Zion!

My family and I live in Yorba Linda, and we enjoy taking road trips to visit family and see God’s creation. When I have some time to myself, I love to read. I pray that when students leave my classroom, they have a deeper understanding of how much God loves them and know that He has a plan for them.

I have had the pleasure of investing in students’ lives and futures for the past decade in various school capacities, as I trained for and then became a teacher. My absolute favorite thing about the field of teaching is the opportunity to help students grow their creativity and awareness of their gifts in a fun, caring environment. I have taught many different grade levels, from first grade to 8th grade, and have enjoyed them all in different ways. I am excited to be a part of the Zion family this year and cant wait to see what learning adventures we will have together!

His first experience teaching was as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Central Asia. He has taught at Lutheran schools in Cerritos and San Diego, as well as the Los Angeles Film School in Hollywood, CA. His favorite part of teaching are those moments when students grasp and master concepts for the first time. In 2019 he was married to Susan (who serves as Zion’s ECEC director). Mr. Marousek’s hobbies and interests include reading, technology, vinyl records, and trying to figure out how to teach his two cats to not climb on the curtains or scratch the furniture.

I am so excited to begin this new chapter in my life here at Zion. I attended  College of the Ozarks in Missouri where I grew up. I did not set out to be a teacher, but God called me to this profession without a doubt. I absolutely love teaching junior high students! I aspire to educate students to make our world a better place; not only for others but for themselves as well. My prayer is that they go out throughout the nations and spread the love of Jesus to all. I love anything nature-related, reading, animals, and family.

“I am thrilled about my role as resource teacher here at Zion Lutheran!  At a young age I have traveled to Nepal and The Philippines sharing the gospel of Jesus that transforms lives! I spent two years as a substitute teacher on the island of Kaua’i in Hawaii. These experiences led me to the realization I could no longer ignore my gift and passion for teaching! I am thankful for the amazing individuals who have spoken truth into my life and have encouraged me to be here today. I love spending time laughing with my family and friends, watching Formula 1, and sewing. I am honored to be part of these students’ lives and speak truth into their identity and unique giftings!”
